Trainers will verse each other in tons of battles throughout their journey. Battling helps trainers out in many ways, if they lose they try to build on what Pokemon defeated them so they can improve. A trainer that wins will earn prize money which can be used to purchase many goods at the PokeMart. But if a trainer wins, the Pokemon will benefit and gain experience points so it can level up and become even more powerful!

Trainers that have beaten the Pokemon League gain access to a place called the Battle Tower. This place is where the top trainers compete to see who is truly the best of the best! In some cases you gain access to a place called the Battle Frontier, which is several places in which a trainer can fight amongst other trainers and gain BP or Battle points. Trainers can redeem those points for prizes and special training items. Fighting can be used with rental Pokemon, in which a trainer can use other Pokemon that are not their own. You can only rent these Pokemon to battle with at the Battle Factory and they cannot be used anywhere else. When you leave the Battle Factory you will get your own Pokemon back and have to give back the rental Pokemon.

Battling has many clauses and specified levels, these however aren’t required. Some clauses are used to make it seem more fair. Sleep clause is designed to allow only one Pokemon to fall asleep on the trainers side so the opponent can’t make all your Pokemon asleep. There can be special levels, these usually consist of a Level 50 all battle in which all Pokemon in the battle are no high or lower than level 50. This type of battle is probably a common type that you will see in the Battle Frontier or Battle Tower. There is also level 100 all in which all Pokemon have to be at level 100, this is the highest level that a trainer can participate in. Battling is used in many ways and creative fashions, and of course an important part in becoming a Pokemon Master!
